| OotP Release Date Confirmation |
|
blackfoot writes "OotP Release Date Confirmation
After rumours circulated over the weekend that 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' would be released on July 13th, 2007, HPANA have heard from Warner Bros. that the date in question is 'targeted' but not an absolute commitment. However, 'targeted' dates apparently tend to end up being the release date.
Fans will no doubt now be left wondering what this might mean for the release of the seventh book in the series. There has been much speculation on the as yet unconfirmed date, but the most widely believed so far is 7th July 2007, although this is just a guess amongst fans. There have so far not been any hints from official sources to suggest a date.

| Gary Oldman to play Sirius Black |
|
jlwitch writes "Well as you all know, not but a few weeks back, a large number of fans were already in turmoil about the up and coming fifth film. Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. Due to the fact that, as actor lists popped up all over the net, one name was not to be seen. Gary Oldman! Through out the weeks, it was back and fourth with rumors, saying that he would indeed be returning to play his part for Sirius Black, and then that he wouldn't be coming back to the set of Harry Potter, that he was moving on to other things.
This of all things had Harry Potter fans all over the globe, in utter turmoil. They're beloved Gary Oldman not to play Sirius Black!?! It was insane, who else could play the part of the much loved Sirius Black? Everyone knew he couldn't simply be duped out of this film, as he plays a key part of the plot in the fifth book. Rumor shot around, that he would not return, that WB had not approached him, and his managaer Douglas Urbanski was threatening WB, that if they did not approach Gary Oldman within a week, they would not take on the role of Sirius Black!
The very next day, after this last bit of news hit the net. "The news that unless WB approached Gary Oldman within the week, Gary Oldman would NOT be playing Sirius Black" WB and Gary Oldman and Douglas Urbanski made it official, that Gary Oldman was INDEED to return and reprise his role as our loved Sirius Black, to much relief and happiness of almost all fans, and definitely a large number of Harry Potter anticipators.
So in conclusion, Gary Oldman WILL reprise his role of the beloved Sirius Black, for what seems like it may very well be the last time. As the character of Sirius Black is to die in this film, and book. Unless he is somehow seen again in book 7, I do not believe they will need Gary Oldman any longer, and we will miss seeing or Sirius Black in the movies. But enjoy him in Order of the Pheonix, while you can. Which is to be released July 13, 2007! In theaters."
